GATINEAU — The CRTC wants to know if the ongoing Covid-19 crisis has altered the positions put forward by any participants at the public hearing held earlier this year as part of the Commission’s wireless policy review.

Given the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic became more pronounced in Canada after the hearing in February, the Commission is giving participants an opportunity to provide additional information to be considered within the proceeding.

In a request for information issued as a procedural letter on May 15, the Commission asks: “Does the ongoing situation with respect to the Covid-19 pandemic change the view you have previously put forward on any of the issues being examined in this proceeding? Explain why or why not with supporting rationale and evidence, as necessary.”

Interested parties must file their responses with the Commission no later than May 29. Requests for disclosure of any information designated as confidential in these RFI responses must be made no later than June 5. The deadline for replies to requests for disclosure is June 12.

The Commission previously suspended the deadline for final submissions to the wireless policy review proceeding due to the Covid-19 situation. The Commission said in its procedural letter dated May 15 it is still evaluating an appropriate deadline date for final submissions and will communicate its decision as soon as possible.
