TORONTO, LONDON and HAMBURG — Kids and family entertainment company WildBrain announced today its AVOD network and digital studio, WildBrain Spark, is co-developing and co-producing a new digital first-series in partnership with Germany’s The emoji company GmbH.

Targeted at teens and young adults, emojitown (52 episodes x 2 minutes) will premiere on a dedicated WildBrain Spark channel on YouTube launching at the end of May, says WildBrain’s press release. WildBrain Spark holds exclusive global distribution rights to the new series.

At launch, viewers will be able to enjoy the first four episodes of what WildBrain describes as a “fast-paced, language-agnostic show”, followed by additional episodes rolling out weekly.

WildBrain Spark is supporting the series with extensive digital marketing, paid-media campaigns and dedicated social media strategies. WildBrain Spark will also exclusively handle branded content opportunities and advertising sales for emojitown on YouTube.

In addition, WildBrain’s global licensing agency, WildBrain CPLG, will handle worldwide licensing and merchandising rights for emojitown, building on the agency’s extensive and highly successful program for the emoji brand across the U.K., Europe, the Middle East and other territories, says the release. WildBrain CPLG will also work with The emoji company and licensees to develop emojitown products across key categories for teens and young adults.
