TORONTO — Kids’ and family entertainment company WildBrain announced today it has secured several international sales across seasons one and two of the animated series The Brilliant World of Tom Gates as well as the brand’s Christmas special.
The Brilliant World of Tom Gates is a Sky Original series produced by TG Entertainment and is based on British writer and illustrator Liz Pichon’s bestselling Tom Gates series of kids’ books, explains a press release.
In addition to holding the global distribution rights to the series’ two seasons and the previously announced The Brilliant World of Tom Gates: Epic Christmas Party, WildBrain has recently added the upcoming Halloween special The Brilliant World of Tom Gates: A Monster Halloween — featuring British YouTube sensation and gamer DanTDM — to its slate.
In the deals announced today, WildBrain has signed sales across multiple territories, including with: Da Vinci (U.S.) for seasons one and two; Vudu (U.S.), RTP (Portugal), and Wiz/Hop! Media Group (Israel) for season one; and PCCW – Now TV (Hong Kong), Knowledge Kids (B.C.) and TVOkids (Ontario) for season two. Knowledge Kids and TVOkids have also signed on for the Christmas special.
These new agreements add to previously announced broadcast and streaming partners for season one, including ABC (Australia), Knowledge Kids and TVOkids (Canada), JOJKO and Tuki Channel (Slovakia), E-Vision and ejunior (MENA and Pakistan), MBC Group’s streaming platform Shahid (MENA) and PCCW – Now TV (Hong Kong).
“The Brilliant World of Tom Gates continues to draw audiences and broadcasters looking for a fun and innovative series with a distinctive visual style that kids can relate to,” said Caroline Tyre, vice-president of global sales and rights strategy at WildBrain, in the press release.
“We’ve received tremendous feedback on the show, and we’re now excited to introduce the series to new international audiences and to share even more of Tom Gates through the hilarious new Halloween special, starring the incredibly talented DanTDM, and the epic Christmas special.”
