TORONTO — Marking the first-ever pride and same-sex wedding episodes to air on Treehouse, Corus Entertainment announced today two special episodes of preschool series Miss Persona featuring 2SLGBTQ+ storylines will air this weekend on the kids channel.

In “Love Every Moment”, premiering Saturday, April 17 at 11:45 a.m. ET, Miss Persona’s mom (Jane McClelland) marries her partner, Lorna (Elvira Kurt). Then in the episode “I Wanna Wear”, premiering Sunday, April 18 at 11:45 a.m. ET, Brandon Bear attends his first pride parade.

Developed for children ages two to five, the Daytime Emmy-nominated series uses dress-up and imagination to solve problems with Miss Persona and her best friend, shy teddy bear Brandon Bear. Each episode includes a narrative short, original song and crafting segment. The series is designed to guide kids through the many “firsts” of being a preschooler, while helping kids grow emotional resilience and reduce any anxiety that comes along with new experiences, says the press release.

Season three of Miss Persona features Canadian children’s music performer Fred Penner, Alyson Court (Big Comfy Couch), Joe Motiki (The Crawlspace), puppeteer Mike Petersen (Fraggle Rock, Toopy and Binoo) and former WWE wrestling champion Anthony Carelli (Santino Marella), as well as cameos by ET Canada’s Carlos Bustamante, K. Trevor Wilson (Letterkenny), Emma Wiggle and Steve “Ed the Sock” Kerzner playing Ted the Sock.

As well as airing on Treehouse, Miss Persona is available live and on demand on Corus’s StackTV.
