RICHMOND, B.C. — A new independent ISP, Babbl Communications, earlier this month launched an early release of its home Internet service in Richmond, Parksville and Nanaimo, British Columbia.
The third-party ISP was founded in 2021 by Jason Speers, who is also the company’s president, and a team of telecom professionals. The company “is on a mission to give our customers a high-quality and reliable experience that’s completely free of the strict contracts required by traditional providers,” according to a press release.
“As a digital-first company, Babbl can nimbly scale and flexibly adjust to our customers’ changing needs,” says Speers in the release.
“This ability means that, unlike the big providers, we’re able to remain cost-efficient and ensure our prices are kept to a minimum for our customers,” Speers adds.
The press release says Babbl offers contract-free packages to meet every customer need. Plans include an all-in-one router and Wi-Fi modem, which the company says is easy to self-install — the modem is delivered on the date chosen by the customer and comes activated.
The Internet packages currently listed on Babbl’s website range in price from $50/month for Internet 75 service to $90/month for an Internet 300 package. A one-time activation and delivery fee of $50 applies to all plans.
