TORONTO – On Wednesday evening, Rogers Communications announced Tony Staffieri (above), the company’s chief financial officer, is leaving the company, effective immediately.

Paulina Molnar (below) has been appointed interim CFO. No explanation was given for Staffieri’s departure.

“On behalf of the Rogers team, I thank Tony for the many contributions he made to our company including ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting over the nearly ten years he served as our CFO,” said Joe Natale, president and CEO, in a press release. “We wish him well in his future endeavours and look forward to building on the strong foundation he helped lay for us.”

Paulina Molnar will assume the role of interim CFO, announced the company. She has been with Rogers for 16 years and is currently senior vice-president, controller and risk management. She brings 26 years of industry experience to the interim CFO role including financial controller, business support, internal audit,

enterprise risk management, business continuity and corporate security.

Staffieri joined Rogers in 2012 after several years at Bell Canada, where he was senior vice president finance. He is a board director of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and chairs its audit committee. He also serves Ryerson University as the chair of its board of governors.

The company also noted in the release its Shaw transaction continues to move forward as previously expected, despite the departure of this key executive.

Rogers will host its third quarter 2021 financial results call on Thursday, October 21 at 8 a.m. E.T. with the investment community. “Results to be in-line with the outlook provided on July 21, 2021,” reads the release.
