OTTAWA — Video production tech supplier Ross Video today announced support for Amazon Web Services’ AWS for Media & Entertainment initiative as part of Ross’s future roadmaps for its media asset management, server and newsroom editorial solutions.
“AWS for Media & Entertainment is an initiative featuring new and existing services and solutions from AWS and AWS partners, built specifically for content creators, rights holders, producers, broadcasters, and distributors,” explains Ross Video’s press release.
AWS for Media & Entertainment simplifies building and deploying mission-critical workloads by aligning AWS and AWS partner capabilities against five solution areas: content production; media supply chain and archive; broadcast; direct-to-consumer and streaming; and data science and analytics.
Previously, Ross announced it had integrated Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) Glacier cloud-based storage with Ross’s range of media asset management and server solutions. In today’s press release, Ross says the company “is looking to further exploit this important customer feature via its Inception.cloud Newsroom Editorial system.”
“There is no doubt that the cloud will play an increasingly important role in our live production industry, as workflows become virtualized and our customers turn to cloud-based solutions and storage because of the convenience, flexibility and scalability they provide,” says Ross Video CTO Troy English, in the release.
