TORONTO — Rogers Sports and Media’s Sportsnet announced today its Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling is returning to action after a prolonged hiatus due to the global pandemic, with the first event in the series scheduled for broadcast on Sportsnet’s TV and streaming platforms starting April 15.

Owned and operated by Sportsnet since 2012, the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling is an elite series featuring the best men’s and women’s curling teams from around the world. This year’s condensed Grand Slam circuit will feature 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams competing in two back-to-back events: Humpty’s Champions Cup (April 14-18) and Princess Auto Players’ Championship (April 20-25).

Sportsnet’s exclusive coverage of the Humpty’s Champions Cup will begin on Thursday, April 15 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN Now. Coverage of the Princess Auto Players’ Championship will start on Tuesday, April 20 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN Now.

Both events are taking place in the curling hub city bubble at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, complying with all government health and safety protocols, says Sportsnet’s press release.

Veteran broadcaster Rob Faulds will have the play-by-play call from Calgary, while World Curling Hall of Fame inductee Kevin Martin, 1998 Olympic gold medallist Joan McCusker and 1998 Olympic silver-medallist Mike Harris will serve as analysts throughout both competitions.

Sportsnet’s broadcasts will include coverage of the round-robin stage, followed by tiebreakers (if necessary) and the playoff rounds, culminating in the men’s and women’s finals on the last day of each event.
