MONTREAL — Bell Media’s Noovo today unveiled the cast of its upcoming dramatic comedy La Confrérie (The Brotherhood), which has started filming in Quebec City and involves intrigue during a winter festival.

Pierre-François Legendre (above, top left) will play the main role of Simon Grenier in the 12-part half-hour comedy drama. Other cast members include Isabelle Blais, Mathieu Baron, Mélissa Bédard, Guillaume Cyr, Ariane Bellavance-Fafard, Romane Denis, Alexandre Goyette, Guillaume Lambert, Florence Longpré, Vincent Millard, Mathieu Quesnel, Audrey Roger and Leïla Thibeault-Louchem.

The comedy sees Simon having to replace at short notice his friend Patrice (played by Cyr, middle centre) as the Bonhomme des Neiges.

“Simon sinks into a whirlwind of lies to hide from his family this new hobby which will quickly turn into a nightmare. He awkwardly tries to hide his new life from his girlfriend Caroline and his children Lily and Félix. But Simon has no idea what a shady universe exists behind the Festival des Neiges!” reads an English translation of a description in a press release.

Blais (top centre) stars as Simon’s girlfriend Caroline, while Denis (middle right) and Millard (bottom centre) play his children.

“We were caught up in this original and completely exploded proposition: a series that is distinguished by a biting humour, but also by the story of a family far from ordinary and with which we can identify!” said Sophie Parizeau, general manager of fiction for Bell Media, in the press release.

“This unique tone, these true and touching characters embodied by a formidable cast as well as constant turnarounds will keep us going throughout the episodes.”

La Confrérie is directed by Guillaume Lonergan (M’entends-tu? III) and produced by ComediHa! in collaboration with Bell Media. It will air on Noovo starting in January 2022.
