TORONTO — Made|Nous, the Canadian film and TV industry’s consumer-focused initiative to promote the work of Canadian creators, launched today a new campaign designed to encourage Canadians to seek out content and creators from a wide array of racial backgrounds and lived experiences, reflecting the varied storytellers shaping TV, film and gaming in Canada.

Joining the “Seek More” campaign as ambassadors are actors Shamier Anderson (above left, Stowaway, Bruised), Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs (centre, Blood Quantum, Taika Waititi/FX’s Reservation Dogs), and Simu Liu (right, Kim’s Convenience, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).

Also lending their voices to the campaign are Adib Alkhalidey (L’Agent Jean, Mon Ami Walid), singer Mélissa Bédard (Star académie, M’entends-tu), Cynthia Wu-Maheux (District 31), Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid’s Tale, Kim’s Convenience), Hamza Haq (Transplant), Kaniehtiio Horn (Barkskins, Letterkenny) and Cassandra James (General Hospital).

The multimedia campaign features first-person stories from each ambassador sharing their experiences working in the entertainment industry and what representation in front of and behind the camera means to them. The English spot is directed by Raha Euphoria of Toronto, while the French spot is directed by Montreal-based director Edith Jorisch.

The updated Made|Nous website now includes Seek More recommendations at made-nous.ca.
