TORONTO — Independent broadcaster Hollywood Suite announced today it will premiere ITV’s new true-crime drama The Pembrokeshire Murders, which chronicles a ground-breaking cold case murder investigation in Wales, on May 20 at 9 p.m. ET.

The three-part drama is a scripted series based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Steve Wilkins and Jonathan Hill. Starring Luke Evans (above, Beauty and the Beast, the Fast and Furious series), The Pembrokeshire Murders follows newly promoted detective superintendent Steve Wilkins as he reopens two unsolved murder cases that have cast a long shadow over the work of the Dyfed-Powys police force.

“Employing pioneering forensic methods, Wilkins and his hand-picked team find microscopic DNA and fibres that potentially link the 1980s murders to a string of burglaries also committed in the 80s and 90s. The perpetrator of those crimes is nearing the end of his prison sentence, but if Steve Wilkins is right, he is also a serial killer,” reads Hollywood Suite’s press release.

The Pembrokeshire Murders series is written by Nick Stevens (In Plain Sight), directed by Marc Evans (Manhunt) and produced by Ed Talfan (Hinterland). Executive producer is Simon Heath (Line of Duty, Bodyguard).

After its premiere on May 20, the series will be available on Hollywood Suite on Demand beginning May 21. Also available on May 21 is The Pembrokeshire Murders: Catching the Game Show Killer, a documentary chronicling the real-life story behind The Pembrokeshire Murders.
