TORONTO — Hollywood Suite announced Tuesday morning its “Box Office Bonanza” summer lineup will see a top blockbuster movie air every night on Hollywood Suite, from June 1 to August 31.
In addition, its “Franchise Fridays” programming will kick-start every weekend this summer.
“From the high-octane action of Top Gun to Oscar winners such as On Golden Pond and Funny Girl, we’ve got something for everyone,” said Sharon Stevens, vice-president of programming at Hollywood Suite, in a press release.
Box Office Bonanza starts off with Grease (1978) on June 1, with other June highlights including West Side Story (1961), Airplane! (1980), Space Jam (1996), and Gone Girl (2014).
Franchise Fridays begin with the Spider-Man series on June 4, followed by other featured movie franchises, including:
- June 11: Superman, Superman II, Superman III
- June 18: National Lampoon’s Vacation, National Lampoon’s European Vacation
- June 25: Men in Black, Men in Black II, Men in Black 3
- July 2: Rocky, Rocky II
- July 9: Alien, Aliens
- July 16: The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions
- July 23: Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Kill Bill: Vol. 2
- July 30: The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day
- August 6: The Mummy, The Mummy Returns
- August 13: The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, The Karate Kid Part III
- August 20: Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers
- August 27: The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2
In addition, as part of Box Office Bonanza, Hollywood Suite will serve up a Will Smith Weekend from June 25 to 27, featuring The Pursuit of Happyness, and both the Men in Black and Bad Boys movie series.
Then, in honour of Sylvester Stallone’s birthday on July 6, Hollywood Suite will feature Stallone Week, running July 2 to 8. This event will include The Expendables series, the Rocky films, the Rambo collection as well as other Sly favourites like Cliffhanger, Cop Land, Tango & Cash and Demolition Man.
