Videotron’s Fizz announced Wednesday the official launch of Fizz TV, its all-digital and fully customizable television service, following a successful beta period.
Available now to Fizz Home Internet customers in Quebec, Fizz TV offers a pick-and-choose model that lets users build their own TV plan. Starting at $7 per month, for a limited introductory period, the basic plan includes 23 general-interest channels, to which subscribers can add from five to 20 specialty channels for an added cost. The current price for the basic package plus 20 additional channels is $25 per month, according to information on Fizz’s website.
“The launch of Fizz TV continues our mission of providing our members with straightforward, innovative digital services tailored to their needs,” Martin Gendron, general manager of Fizz, said in a press release. “Our unique approach empowers subscribers to create a TV experience that is truly their own, and is at once affordable and flexible.”
One of Fizz TV’s advantages, according to the press release, is that all specialty channels are the same price. Fizz TV subscribers have more than 100 channels to choose from, the release says. Subscribers can also access paid video-on-demand services through the Fizz TV app.
Other advantages include not having to install equipment, as the downloadable Fizz TV app is compatible with a wide range of devices including Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and iOS and Android phones and tablets, the press release says. Fizz TV offers live, catch-up and on-demand viewing, with some content available across Canada, as well as simultaneous viewing for up to five users.
