TORONTO — Corus Entertainment’s podcast network, Curiouscast, announced today it is premiering three new podcasts this spring, including two fiction titles and an investigative series that examines modern China.

Debuting May 13, China Rising is the second season of Global News’ “Rising” series and comes on the heels of the successful Russia Rising podcast. Hosted by Global News senior correspondent and video journalist Jeff Semple, this 10-episode series “investigates how China is quietly applying pressure and working to infiltrate the upper echelons of power in western countries, including Canada. It is also discusses whether China is indeed friendly and peaceful, as President Xi claims; or if Canada and its allies should stand on guard against China Rising,” reads Corus’s press release.

On May 24, Curiouscast will premiere the third season of fictional sci-fi series Marsfall, which follows some of the earliest colonists to settle on Mars in the year 2047. Each episode continues the story from a different character’s perspective. The first two seasons are available on Curiouscast.ca for catch-up listening and, after season three premieres, new episodes will be released every two weeks.

Launching June 7, Escaping Denver is Curiouscast’s first original fiction podcast. In this sci-fi series, Sara and Noah wake up in complete darkness, trapped miles below the Denver International Airport. “Join their perilous journey as they struggle for freedom from a mind-bending labyrinth filled with unimaginable horrors,” reads the series description. New episodes will be released bi-weekly.
