MISSISSAUGA – CommTech East wrapped up Wednesday after more than 500 attendees from the cable, wireless, ISP and related ICT industries packed the two-day event in Mississauga.
Now in its third year, the confab offered topical seminars and a trade show with over 125 exhibiting companies and distributors. Highlights included a splicing workshop, new product demonstrations at select exhibitor booths, and an opening day welcome reception during the exhibitor forum. Predominant themes this year included DOCSIS 3.0, FTTX and 4K, among others.
Communications wholesale distributor Power & Tel signed on once again as the platinum sponsor for both this show and CommTech West, which will take place June 1 – 2 at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Convention Centre in Calgary. The CommTech charity golf tournament is planned for May 31 at the Valley Ridge Golf Club in Calgary.
Power & Tel sales director Kevin Sweeting described the networking opportunities at the multi-industry show as “bar none, the best we have in Canada”.
“We’ve been a long time sponsor of CommTech East and West and the golf tournament”, Sweeting told Cartt.ca. “The most important piece of this is that we get to interface with existing customers all in one location. We have multiple vendors at our table, and the show brings our customers, from the technicians to the executives, together with my whole sales team and my vendor team, where we can cover multiple products and educate them on what we’re doing, as well as discuss their needs.”
“I feel that the gathering of ICT experts at CommTech East this year was exceptional”, added show organizer Linda Guzman. “Technologies and ideas were exchanged by many new and returning companies over the past two days. My staff and I are overwhelmed by positive feedback.”
