TORONTO – Telus now the official national wireless provider for the Canadian Football League, it was announced Wednesday.
As part of a new two-year partnership, starting later this season, football fans will be able to watch live games on the go, check stats in real time and watch highlights through the first-ever CFL mobile app. Then, through Telus TV, CFL fans will have access to full game replays available any time and on demand.
"Our fans are constantly looking for new ways to connect with our league, and now through our partnership with Telus, we can offer them more ways to connect with the CFL than ever before," said CFL commissioner Mark Cohon in a press release. "We are especially excited to offer our fans the first-ever CFL mobile app allowing fans to connect with our league wherever they may be. This partnership is another demonstration of our commitment to our fans to be the most accessible league in sports."
The Telus CFL Mobile app will offer all Canadian wireless customers access to scoreboards, stats, standings, schedules and news articles. However, Telus customers will have exclusive access to the app’s advanced features, including live video-streaming of all CFL games and exciting in-game, on-demand features, a special scoreboard experience with live stats and a chance to win a trip to this year’s sold-out 98th Grey Cup in Edmonton.
The Telus CFL Mobile experience is coming soon to leading smartphones.
