TORONTO – Bell Media services The Comedy Network, Space, Bravo, and Gusto are getting a makeover and will re-emerge this fall as CTV Comedy Channel, CTV Sci-Fi Channel, CTV Drama Channel, and CTV Life Channel.
The broadcaster said the move follows a year of solid growth for the channels, with Comedy, Space, and Bravo all increasing their ranking within Top 10 list of entertainment specialty services, and Gusto inching up to place among the Top 20.
“The four CTV Specialty channels are now a powerhouse suite of diverse entertainment options for CTV viewers,” said Mike Cosentino, Bell Media’s content and programming president, in Wednesday’s news release. “Under CTV’s distinct brand umbrella, and with a slate of marquee series on the schedule, we know these channels are poised to flourish even further.”
New content for the services includes the reboot of Mad About You, half-hour comedy Tacoma FD, plus more from Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Network on CTV Comedy Channel; comedic fish-out-of-water story Resident Alien on CTV Sci-Fi Channel; obsessive thriller Gold Digger and mystery crime drama The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair on CTV Drama Channel; and Jamie Oliver’s new series Jamie’s Ultimate Veg on CTV Life Channel.
