EDMONTON – Super Channel’s president and CEO Don McDonald announced today he will streamline his executive team, reducing the number of his directs reports.

“In June 2016 at the outset of our restructuring we had initially set up a flat organization which was necessary, and now it is time to evolve to allow the company to become nimbler and focus on our strategic priorities. I will be inserting a new level of executives promoted from our current team of directors,” said McDonald in a press release

So, Jackie Pardy, currently director of programming, will be promoted to chief content officer, where she will oversee all aspects of content acquisition and development across all four channels, as well as network scheduling, reads the press release.

Super Channel’s four channels are Fuse, Heart & Home, Vault and Ginx.

Katie Lee, director of consumer marketing, will be promoted to chief marketing officer and will lead the marketing team which will now be comprised of on-air promotion, social media, media relations and affiliate marketing.

Marlene Lone, previously director, affiliate marketing, will see her title changed to chief revenue officer and will be responsible for a newly named revenue department (previously called affiliate sales), where the primary focus will be to generate new revenue streams in addition to traditional BDU revenue, including advertising and sponsorship revenue, says the press release.

Carol Ljuden, as chief technology officer, will be responsible for all broadcast operations and information technology “with the focus on moving Super Channel onto new platforms,” says the announcement.

Rounding out the executive team are Richard Paradis, business affairs and regulatory and Lynn Fowler, human resources. A chief financial officer will be named later and McDonald will assume those responsibilities in the interim.

All changes are effective November 1 and no layoffs were associated with the restructure.
