Secures licensing deals with Corus, Hollywood Suite and Paramount+ in Canada

Global film and TV studio Fifth Season announced Tuesday it has appointed former Wattpad Studios executive Muriel Rosilio to the newly created role of director of sales for Canada.

Rosilio will be responsible for monetizing Fifth Season’s content rights across all media and languages throughout Canada. She reports to Travis Webb, the studio’s senior vice president of sales for the Americas.

Fifth Season also announced new licensing deals across its slate of premium scripted and unscripted content with Corus, Hollywood Suite and Paramount+ in Canada.

A new multi-title deal with Corus includes Morimoto’s Sushi Master with Iron Chef legend Masaharu Morimoto, Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis’s Honest RenovationsStacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue, and Katherine Ryan: Parental Guidance.

Hollywood Suite has licensed seasons one and two of the acclaimed Irish crime drama Kin, starring Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Clare Dunne (Herself).

Fifth Season’s new licensing deal with Paramount+ (Canada) includes Lightbox’s new docuseries Marilyn Manson: Unmasked and the feature documentary Michael Johnson: Super Man.

“Canada is an important growth area for us and a market where we already have deep roots and key partnerships, so it’s fantastic to be broadening the range of leading local players we’re collaborating with,” Webb said in a press release. “Furthermore, having Muriel join our team gives us a strong local presence and leader. With her strategic mindset, deep relationships, and wealth of market knowledge, we know she will add significant value to our business across both English and French-speaking Canada.”

Rosilio is a bilingual seasoned executive who brings more than 20 years of experience in global business development, content monetization and strategic partnerships, according to the press release. As vice president of global business development at Wattpad WEBTOON Studios, she played a key role in the studio’s international expansion, securing first-look deals with Spain’s Zeta Studios, France’s Mediawan and Germany’s Bavaria Fiction, alongside partnerships with Canadian entities such as CBC Gem and Junction Hammer Productions.

Previously, Rosilio founded Farrago Media in Toronto, where she helped YouTube creators establish sustainable revenue streams to monetize their content, and she also held Canadian distribution rights to series including Goosebumps and The Saddle Club (from Protocol Entertainment).

Prior to that, she was vice president of sales and acquisitions at Filmoption International, a leading distributor of non-scripted content, where she successfully grew their Toronto office into a major profit centre, according to the press release.
