MONTREAL — To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the MTelus live performance venue, Telus will present a free concert on Thursday, Nov. 3, featuring Quebec artists Ariane Moffatt, Valaire, FouKi, Naomi, Les Louanges, Mike Clay and Marilyne Léonard, the company announced today.
Telus will donate $5 for each person attending the concert to LOVE (Québec), “a Montreal-based organization that helps over 800 youth each year to develop their full potential through a variety of workshops, such as the media arts workshop that channels and transforms difficult emotions into creative projects,” explains a press release.
“True to our philosophy to ‘give where we live’, TELUS is proud to present a free concert that highlights the best of Quebec’s musical culture while also supporting a cause that’s dear to our hearts,” said Nathalie Dionne, Telus interim vice-president for home solutions and customer experience, in the release.
“An impressive line-up of chart-topping artists will put on an exciting performance at this iconic venue where many of the biggest names in Quebec got their start, and which has now been modernized with TELUS’ support. This initiative is another example of our key cultural partnerships throughout the province, which also include the ADISQ awards gala, the Grand Théâtre de Québec, and the Festival de Musique du Bout du Monde in the Gaspé Peninsula,” Dionne said.
Telus became a partner of MTelus in 2017 and contributed $5 million to help renovate the legendary venue, the release explains. The updated concert hall features “state of the art lighting and sound systems, a new bar at the entrance, free Wi-Fi and charging stations,” the release says.
“LOVE Québec is honoured to receive the financial support of TELUS and its MTELUS+5 concert. It will allow us to continue our activities aimed at developing youth’s emotional intelligence through creative workshops, many of them involving music, and to continue providing inspiration for our young leaders,” said Robyn Dalton, executive director of LOVE (Québec). “Thanks to all the music fans who’ll be attending the concert and transforming their passion for music into support for local youth.”
Those attending the concert will have a chance to win $2,500 in MTelus performances, according to the release. In addition, Telus customers wanting a VIP experience can sign up for the MTELUS+ program for free and enjoy priority entrance to the venue with three friends and free use of the coat check, the release adds.
Free tickets to the concert can be reserved here.
