TORONTO — Hollywood Suite announced today it will present a full day of programming from Indigenous creators on Sept. 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The day’s lineup includes the broadcast premiere of the 2020 feature-length documentary The Long Ride Home (above) at 9 p.m. ET.

“The documentary tells the story of a courageous group of Indigenous riders, led by Neil Sioux, who embark on a series of two-week-long horseback journeys across many traditional territories to bring awareness to the realities of our colonial past, end the over-representation of Indigenous children in care, and find a shared path forward,” reads a press release.

Other programming scheduled to air on HS00 on Sept. 30 includes Indian Horse (2017), Jeremy Torrie’s thriller The Corruption of Divine Providence (2020), Darlene Naponse’s Falls Around Her (2018) starring Tantoo Cardinal, Every Child Matters: Reconciliation Through Education (2020), Stephanie Joline’s Stream Me (2021), Great Great Great (2017), Abandoned: Angelique’s Isle (2018), and Shirley Cheechoo’s supernatural drama Bearwalker (2001).

In addition, the new TV special Remembering The Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, honouring residential school survivors, their families, their communities and all the children who never made it home, will air at 8 p.m. ET on HS00.
