OTTAWA — Gusto Worldwide Media announced today the return of its food channel Gusto TV to Canada after a two-and-a-half-year absence.

“In 2016, Gusto TV licensed the brand to Bell Media for use in Canada only. That agreement is coming to a close, allowing Gusto to stream the channel to hungry Canadian viewers,” explains a press release.

In fall 2019, Bell Media rebranded Gusto as CTV Life Channel.

Starting today, Gusto TV is making its culinary programming available to Samsung TV Plus viewers in Canada. This will be followed by a rollout on multiple platform partners throughout the summer and fall, according to the release. (Earlier this month, a Gusto TV spokesperson told Cartt.ca there are plans to launch on LG Channels in Canada within the next few months.)

“We’re pumped that Gusto TV is coming home to the Canadian audiences that helped launch us back in 2013,” says Chris Knight, president and CEO of Gusto Worldwide Media, in the release.

“We’ve been busy building Gusto TV into a global brand celebrating cultural diversity, family, and great food. It’s good to be home again!”

Gusto TV’s content, which is available in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, is seen on 40 platforms in 160 countries. All of the content seen on the international channel is produced in-house by Gusto.

“We’re very proud that everything seen on Gusto is made In Canada by Canadians. Our production values and story-telling are second to none thanks to our exceptional Canadian crews and colleagues,” Knight said.
