MONTREAL — Quebecor’s TVA Sports, the exclusive French-language broadcaster of NHL games in Canada, announced Monday its broadcast schedule for the first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers.

The first game in the best-of-seven series takes place on Wednesday, August 12 at 8 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and will be broadcast in French exclusively on TVA Sports and TVA Sports Direct. The game will also be broadcast in English on Sportsnet and CBC. (Pictured are Habs goalie Carey Price and Flyers forward Sean Couturier.)

Ahead of the teams’ first meeting, TVA Sports experts and analysts will set the stage with a pre-game show starting at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the first matchup at 8 p.m. and a post-match show.

TVA Sports is also providing French-language coverage of other first-round series, starting with a daily broadcast of more than 10 consecutive hours of live coverage, including three games per day, beginning Tuesday, August 11.

On Tuesday, TVA Sports will broadcast the first games in the series between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Calgary Flames and the Dallas Stars, and the Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins. In addition to the first Canadiens-Flyers game, on Wednesday, August 12 TVA Sports will air the first matchups between the New York Islanders and the Washington Capitals, and the Arizona Coyotes and the Colorado Avalanche.
