GATINEAU/MONTREAL – Canadians wishing to attend next month’s Discoverability Summit in Toronto may now register to receive tickets.
Co-hosted by the CRTC and the NFB, the Discoverability Summit is scheduled for May 10 and 11 at the Thompson Hotel in Toronto. Guest speakers include Jeremy Singer of Entertainment Tonight Canada, Amy Terrill of Music Canada and Louis Lalande, EVP of CBC/Radio-Canada French Services. Other major players from the digital media sector are also expected to participate, and will be revealed in the coming weeks.
The two-day affair will enable participants to discuss strategies, tools and approaches to improve the discoverability of content and to make it easier for viewers to find the content that they want. The agenda for the event and the registration page are available on the Discoverability website.
“This Summit will provide an opportunity to continue discussions started during the En route events in Montreal and Vancouver”, said CRTC chair and CEO Jean-Pierre Blais, in a statement. “Participants will have an opportunity to exchange ideas on approaches and strategies that could be adopted to overcome challenges of discoverability. They will have several sessions to choose from that will address both relevant and diverse challenges. The Summit will help us all better navigate the fast-paced and ever-changing world of digital media and its many twists and turns.”
“At this event, which promises to be a highly inspiring gathering for people in our industry, the guest speakers are sure to stimulate and enrich our thought process through their expertise in a range of sectors related to discoverability issues as well as the concrete solutions they propose”, added NFB chair Claude Joli-Coeur. “This will be an opportunity to take stock together and equip ourselves for the future.”
