MONTREAL – Bell Media has named Dany Meloul to VP programming, French-language TV, effective immediately.

Reporting to French-Language TV and RDS president Gerry Frappier, Meloul will be at the helm of all activities pertaining to scheduling, planning, original content, and acquisitions for the company's French-language non-sports specialty channels Canal Vie, Canal D, Z, VRAK, and Investigation as well as pay services Super Écran and Cinépop.

A Québec media industry veteran, Meloul previously worked as Bell Media’s assistant general counsel and before that at Astral for many years.  She serves on the board of directors of INIS and chairs the Québec Regional Panel of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council.

“Dany’s appointment stems not only from her broad media expertise, but also from her in-depth knowledge of programming, finance, and regulation in the French-language media industry,” said Frappier, in Thursday’s announcement.  “Her extensive experience represents a major asset as Bell Media strengthens its leadership position within the Québec television landscape.”

“I am thrilled to embark on this new adventure and put my passion for television to work for Bell Media and Québec viewers,” added Meloul. “I look forward to collaborating further with our partners from the production communities and building on our shared track record of creating and broadcasting some of TV’s most acclaimed productions.”
