TORONTO – There’s just one week to go to the groundbreaking CTAM event in Toronto . “Delivering Hyper-targeted TV Advertising” will be held November 15th.
Leonard Asper says that conventional broadcasters should be paid for their signal. Is that the answer? Can Hyper-targeted TV Advertising create new revenue streams and actually raise CPM’s. Hear the panel of experts as they present their insights into the future.

What if we could send an ad for Wal-Mart to Scarborough and one for Holt Renfrew to Rosedale, during the same 30 seconds of the same TV show?
What if we could take the same 30 seconds of the same show and send an ad for Oxy to junior’s upstairs bedroom in Rosedale and a BMW ad to the living room for mom and dad?
That’s hyper-targeting.
Advertisers and media buyers are tired of the same ol’ same ol’. Just ask them. The linear 30-second ad is a dinosaur that doesn’t yet know the comet leading to its extinction is barreling towards it.
Advertisers want to know where their ads are going. They don’t just want eyeballs, they want to know more about the person attached to them. Media buyers are demanding ROI. Broadcasters want to – have to – deliver.
But, as an industry, how in the world can we make the transition from a shotgun blast to a sniper’s shot work? What are everyone’s roles?
The conduit is the addressable digital set top box, which can identify different customer segments and make the ads appear where they’re desired. How will this work?
Join CTAM Canada for what will certainly be a lively, interesting discussion on the future of TV advertising and how hyper-targeted TV ads are central to that future.
