Another 260 homes, businesses to have access by fall 2022
OXFORD COUNTY – The Government of Ontario and Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) today announced 675 homes and businesses in Oxford County now have access to high-speed Internet and another 260 will have access by fall 2022.
The governments of Canada and Ontario have each invested over $950,000 through SWIFT to make this happen, according to a press release issued today by the province.
Details of the now completed projects are as follows:
- Rogers Communications has been providing 484 homes and businesses in Drumbo and Gobles with service since May 17, 2022, according to SWIFT’s approved projects webpage, which indicates the total project value is $1.5 million, including $697,305 from SWIFT.
- Quandro Communications has been providing 87 homes and businesses in Kintore with service since June 22, 2022. The total project value is $521,879, including $274,491 from SWIFT.
- Execulink Telecom will provide 104 homes and businesses in Verschoyle and Dereham Centre with service as of tomorrow. The total project value is $614,582, including $414,965 from SWIFT.
“In addition, more than 260 homes, farms and businesses in the communities of Hickson, Strathallan, Huntingford, and Willow Lake are scheduled to begin receiving access to high-speed internet service by the Fall of 2022. Both governments are each committing more than $256,000 in total to this project,” the government’s release says.
A separate press release from SWIFT indicates service will be provided to the 260 premises by Execulink Telecom.
